Pilgrim Course

Post by Aslan_HQ on Tue Feb 17, 2015 2:24 pm

Pilgrim is one of our most popular study courses, and this month has seen an influx of churches, groups and individuals ordering titles from the Pilgrim Course series.

The series, written by Steven Croft, Stephen Cottrell, Paula Gooder, and Robert Atwell is a Christian course for the 21st century that will help enquirers and new Christians explore what it means to travel through life with Jesus Christ.
Pilgrim offers an approach of participation, not persuasion. Enquirers are encouraged to practice biblical reflection and prayer, exploring key texts that have helped people since the earliest days of the Christian faith.
Pilgrim is made up of two parts: ‘Follow’ is aimed at complete beginners, whilst ‘Grow’ aims to develop a deeper level of discipleship in those who have accepted Christ.

Our church uses the Pilgrim course with new members or those who went to Sunday school as kids but want a refresher on the basics when they start coming back to church again in later years.
I've not read the books myself, but they really love it, and the people how have done it found it very useful.
Apparently they're quite good at getting people to think for themselves rather than saying 'you must believe this and this'? Sounds ideal to me. Just Jesus rather than 'religion'.

Great news!

The Pilgrim Course series is now being produced in Large Print format, along with DVDs of the online resources and videos to make it even easier to set up study groups!
These new additions are due for release next month and will be featured in our upcoming September magazine.
